Nespole Painting Lamp Base

Handmade lamp base featuring painting of Nespole by my great grandmother Minnie-Monge.

The painting hung in the hallway of her seafront loft house in Lymington, by the Orange BT telephone. As a child, I would play with the weighing scales and notepads that lay on the table below and spend ages staring at this painting. I loved the colours.
Most recently I found out that the composition of the painting was, as she had hinted to my mum, depicting the isolation she felt with regards to my great grandfathers affairs. Her being the single nespole.
She was a fiercely cheeky woman with a killer sense of humour and a fabulous host to both family and friends. This is my ode to her.

Each one will vary very slightly as they are made by hand, making each piece unique.

Featuring vintage style black twisted cord and fittings. Wired with UK standard fixture
